PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - The La Salle University women's rowing team will take the short trek to the Cooper River for the 2017 Atlantic 10 Championships on Saturday, May 6. The Explorers will have a pair of boats on the water for the event, which is scheduled to begin with preliminary heats at 8:00 a.m.
"The girls have put in a lot of hard work this year on and off the water," head coach
Tom Madden said. "I'm excited to see how their dedication to our process and each other is going to pay off on the race course Saturday."
Leading the contingent are three seniors who have been Explorers for each of the last four years.
Amanda Ryan and
Erika Gonzalez are members of the varsity eight boat, while
Sofia Iaconelli will row from the third seat of the varsity four.
"Our seniors have seen a transformation from four years ago that they can be very proud of," Madden said.

Danielle Deley,
C.J. Lynch and
Monika Halicki will kick off racing in one of two heats that will begin the championship. The varsity eight preliminaries are scheduled to begin at 9:20, with finals commencing at 10:30 a.m.Â
In addition to Gonzalez and Ryan, the varsity eight is comprised of coxswain

Samantha Donahue.
