Men's Water Polo | September 16, 2017
LEWISBURG, PA. - The La Salle men's water polo team fell to nationally ranked No. 16 Bucknell, 21-6, on the first day of the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday. Later in the evening, they were edged by Salem International, 12-11.
Sophomore
Jeff Brady started off the action by scoring the first goal of the game. However, the Bison sooned reeled off 11 straight goals and took an 11-3 lead at halftime.
Daniel Domotor had a fantastic game with 4 goals and a steal.
Joey DeFusco chipped in one more goal on a penalty shot in the effort. Goalies Owain Lewellyn (five saves) and
Cameron Schiable (six saves) split time for the Explorers.
In game two, Salem International led 6-1 after the first quarter. The Explorers couldn't quite get over the top but made a strong comeback, outscoring their opponent in every quarter after.
Domotor had another monster game, scoring five goals and dishing out three assists.
Joey DeFusco paced the offense with two goals and three assists. Brady added two more goals, an assist, and two steals. He mixed it up at the center position, drawing three ejectons and one penalty show.
Ash Lyne had two goals and an assist.
La Salle gets back into the pool to wrap up the Bucknell Invite on Sunday when the Explorers face Gannon and Johns Hopkins.
