Women’s Soccer Hosts Dayton Thursday for Fall Tailgate Series

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team will look to improve to 3-0 in Atlantic 10 play as they host the Dayton Flyers at McCarthy Stadium on Thursday night. The women's soccer fall tailgate series will feature free food and giveaways, and will begin at 6:45.
 
Scouting the Explorers
-La Salle defeated Duquesne 3-0 last Thursday to open A-10 play and then pulled out a 3-2 overtime win at Saint Joseph's on Sunday afternoon.
 
-Senior forward Kristin Haugstad had a goal and three assists last week to earn A-10 Offensive Player of the Week honors, it was announced Monday. The senior had a goal and an assist against Duquesne before a two-assist performance against the Hawks.
 
-Three Explorers have a team-high four goals this season in Haugstad, Danielle Marx, and Maci Bower. Marx found the back of the net in both wins last week.
 
-Haugstad and Madison Bower are tied for the team-lead with 11 points. Bower, who scored the game-winning goal in overtime at Saint Joseph's, is second in the A-10 with five assists.

Scouting the Flyers

-Dayton is off to a 1-0-1 start in league play, earning a scoreless draw at VCU on Thursday before defeating George Mason 2-0 at home on Sunday.
 
-Goalkeeper Kaelyn Johns was named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for the second straight week. Johns posted back-to-back shutouts last week, moving her streak to four consecutive shutouts. She has six on the season to tie her career high.
 
-Seven different Flyers have scored so far this season: Alexis Kiehl (5 goals), Micayla Livingston and Sara Robertson (4 goals each), while Sidney LeRoy, Caroline Mink, Madeleine Morrissey, and Jordan Pauley each have one goal.
 
-Dating back to last season, Dayton currently has the longest unbeaten streak in the A-10 with four matches (3-0-1).
