Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Duquesne Downs Explorers, 3-1

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The La Salle men's soccer (4-5-1, 0-1 A-10) team fell in its first Atlantic 10 conference match of the season on Saturday, 3-1, at the hands of the Duquesne Dukes (3-6-1, 1-0 A-10).

Midfielder Hayden Criollo scored his first goal of the season. Criollo, who had an assist in the Explorers' game-tying goal last Wednesday, headed the ball into the net in the 75th minute to cut the Duke lead in half. Duquesne had been up 2-0 at that point and had displayed a stiffling defense that Criollo was finally able to penetrate.

Kenny Lassiter had the assist on Criollo's goal. Lassiter had missed some time recently due to injury but was able to play 84 minutes in today's match. The assist was his first since joining La Salle as a transfer from Syracuse this fall.

Despite the score, La Salle was about on par with Duquesne when it came to shots. The Explorers had 15 shots while Duquesne had 16.

In net, Mark Tobin suffered just his second loss in his seventh start on the season.

The Explorers will look to bounce back on Wednesday when they travel to Fordham. The game is set to begin at 7:00 PM.
