RICHMOND – The La Salle women's basketball team (5-10, 0-3 A-10) dropped a 77-51 decision to the Richmond Spiders (7-9, 2-1 A-10) on Saturday night at the Robins Center.
Adreana Miller poured in a season-high 24 points for the Explorers, shooting 7-for-15 from the field and 6-for-6 from the foul line.
Amy Griffin was the only other Explorer in double figures with 11 points.
Micaela Parson led Richmond with 25 points and Jaide Hinds-Clarke added 13 in 16 minutes off the bench. Kailyn Fee scored all 11 of her points in the first half to help the Spiders take a 42-17 lead into the break.
La Salle held a 50-42 advantage in rebounding, thanks in part to
Shalina Miller tying her career-high with 10 boards. Griffin added seven rebounds while
Ashanti Freeland,
Adreana Miller and
Jeryn Reese each grabbed six rebounds.
The Explorers were again plagued by turnovers, allowing 23 turnovers that UR converted into 19 points.
The Explorers will wrap up nonconference play on Wednesday at Harvard. Tip from Lavietes Pavilion is set for 12 p.m.
