BURLINGTON, N.C. – The La Salle University men's golf team wrapped up the Phoenix Invitational by making program history on Tuesday. The Explorers collectively scored a 281 in the third round to set a program record for single round score. Part of that program record was the efforts put forward by sophomore
Ron Fischang by posting a new career low.
LA SALLE SCORECARD:
- Collectively, the Explorers hit 879 (302, 296, 281) in the tournament to finish 15th of 16.
- Sophomore David Kim finished tied for 30th and atop the La Salle scorecard. Kim shot a 70 and 71 in round two and three to finish at 216 (+3) for the tournament.
- Freshman Dragon Theam was second for the Explorers, posting a 72 and 71 in the final two rounds to end with a 217 (+4).
- Fischang carded a 76 and 66 in round two and three. His 66 (-5) was the second-best score in the third round by anyone in the 92-player field.
- Freshman Matthew Werner held the four hole for La Salle, carding an 81 and 73 to finish the tournament with a 230.
- Freshman Parker Wine rounded out the Explorer scorecard with a 78 and 76 in rounds two and three to finish with a 231.
