PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University volleyball team (14-9, 6-3 A-10) is scheduled to host Fordham (9-13, 2-7 A-10) on Friday at 7 p.m. and Rhode Island (7-14, 1-8 A-10) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT – W, 3-0 vs. George Mason:
- After trailing 6-11 in the first set, the Explorers rallied on a 19-7 run to capture the first set. Corah provided six kills in the opening frame for La Salle.
- In dominating fashion, the Explorers captured the second set, 25-8. After the set was knotted up at four, La Salle exploded on a 21-4 run to seal the victory.
- Similarly to the second set, the teams were tied a four apiece before the Explorers ran away on a 21-7 run.
SCOUTING FORDHAM:
- Fordham enters Friday's match with a 9-13, 2-7 A-10 record, dropping its last four matches.
- Offensively, Fordham is led by Kaitlin Morley (3.38) and McKenna Lahr (2.72) in kills per set.
- Makaela Tanaka paces Fordham with 7.19 assists per set, with Sophia Plett not far behind at 7.13.
SENIOR DAY SUNDAY:
SCOUTING RHODE ISLAND:
- Rhode Island enters the weekend with a 7-14 overall record and a 1-8 mark in the A-10.
- The Rams have lost six consecutive matches, dropping a 3-1 decision to VCU and a 3-2 contest to Davidson this past weekend.
- Before making the trip to Gola Arena, Rhode Island will visit Duquesne on Friday.
- Natale Zanellato leads the squad with 2.86 kills per set, while Claire Chaplinsky averages 2.63 kills.
- Setter Lauren Pick posts 8.72 assists per set, and libero Olivia Budinich averages four digs per frame.
MILESTONE WATCH:
- Sharrits, who recently surpassed 2,000 career digs, enters the weekend with 2,026 digs.
- She is just 54 digs away from tying the school record of 2,080 held by Carolyn Judge.
