PHILADELPHIA - Despite a strong first quarter, the La Salle University men's water polo team fell to Johns Hopkins, 24-5, on Friday evening at Kirk Pool. Freshman
Tyler Williams led the Explorers with a pair of goals.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After two quick goals by the Rams, Williams cashed in on an opportunity at the 5:11 mark of the first quarter to pull La Salle to within a goal at 2-1.
- Johns Hopkins regained a two-goal advantage before the freshman from Sinking Springs, Pa. struck again to put the score at 3-2.
- The two teams traded the next four goals, with La Salle freshman Robert Greene and sophomore Karl Miller finding the back of the net.
- Miller's goal brought the Explorers to within 5-4 with just 32 seconds remaining in the first quarter.
- The Blue Jays were able to score twice over that final span and would take a 7-4 lead into the second period.
- Johns Hopkins took control from there, going on a 17-1 run to close out the contest.
- Junior Jacob Camacho was the lone goal scorer in the second half for La Salle.

- La Salle closes out the season on Sunday, Oct. 28 with a pair of games in New York. The Explorers will face Fordham at 11:00 a.m. and take the short trek south for a matchup with Wagner at 3:00 p.m.
