NEW YORK - The La Salle University men's water polo team closed out the regular season with a pair of contests in New York City. The Explorers started their day up north in the Bronx, fighting to the finish before falling to the Rams, 15-7. Later in the day, La Salle dropped a 21-10 decision to nationally-ranked Wagner in Staten Island.
Fordham 15, La Salle 7
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Explorers started strong, and were tied with the Rams at 3-3 after a quarter.
- Fordham led by a slim 9-6 margin at half and by a score of 11-7 after three before pulling away in the fourth quarter.
- Owain Llewellyn and Cameron Schiable split time in goal, each player earning five saves.
- Offensively, Ash Lyne led the way with three goals and added a steal.
- Joey DeFusco scored once, dished out an assist, drew a penalty shot and one exclusion and blocked a shot on defense.
- Daniel Domotor added a goal and four steals while Karl Miller chipped in one goal and one steal.
- Tyler Williams also scored a goal from the center position.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After trailing 11-2 at halftime, La Salle scored eight times after intermission and dropped the second half by just a pair of goals (10-8).
- Freshmen Josh Delillo scored 2 goals and classmate Esteban Rodriguez also scored one.
- DeFusco led the team with three goals, while Miller, Domotor, Lyne and Anthony Hidalgo each had one.
