Olatoye’s Two Goals Lead to A-10 Draw at Rival Saint Joseph’s

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore Soji Olatoye tallied his first career two-goal performance to lead the La Salle University men's soccer team to a 2-2 draw at Saint Joseph's in Atlantic 10 and Philadelphia Soccer Six action Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Hawks went ahead first in the 30th minute on a goal by Alvin Dahn and held the lead at halftime.
  • Shortly after the break, Olatoye got the Explorers on the board in the 55th minute to even the score at one apiece.
  • Olatoye then struck again in the 63rd minute with his fourth goal of the season to briefly give La Salle a 2-1 lead.
  • However, just 33 seconds later, Saint Joseph's tied it up at 2-2, ultimately leading to overtime.
  • In extra time, the Explorers generated a pair of corner opportunities and three shots, but neither team could find the back of the net.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Senior Mike Liska assisted on both goals, while freshman Ike Hollinger had an assist on the first and fellow rookie Tarin Morris assisted on the second.
  • Senior goalkeeper Cameron Keys matched his season high with four saves for La Salle.
  • The two teams had 18 shots each, with Daniel Begovic (4 shots) as well as freshmen Sam DeCencio (3) and Morris (2) putting the pressure on.
  • It was the first draw of the year for La Salle (2-7-1) as the Explorers capped off its second and final Soccer Six match of the year.
