Explorers Look for Sixth Straight Win in Home Finale against Duquesne Friday

PHILADELPHIA – After extending its win streak to five consecutive matches over the weekend, the La Salle University volleyball team will conclude its home schedule on Friday when the Explorers host Duquesne from Tom Gola Arena at 7 p.m.
 
A-10 CHAMPIONSHIP BOUND!
  • With a win on Sunday and a loss by Saint Louis, the Explorers clinched their first-ever berth in the Atlantic 10 Championship.
  • The tournament will be in Richmond, Va., from Nov. 16-18.
CORAH TABBED A-10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
  • Junior Devin Corah was named A-10 Co-Player of the Week on Monday, the first in program history.
  • She led La Salle to a 2-0 week behind 5.57 kills per set on a .459 hitting percentage.
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Explorers won their fifth straight match by sweeping Rhode Island on Sunday after taking down Fordham, 3-1, on Friday.
  • La Salle honored seniors Jensen Sharrits and Madison Kuch prior to Sunday's match.
  • In Friday's victory over Fordham, Corah matched her season high with 25 kills, while Kuch added 12 kills and junior Kathryn Wood handed out her second-highest assist total of the season with 51.
  • In Sunday's sweep of Rhode Island, Corah had 14 kills and two blocks, and Kuch added 10 kills.
SCOUTING THE DUKES
  • Duquesne enters the match on a three-match winning streak, downing George Washington, Rhode Island and Fordham along the way.
  • The Dukes sit at 12-12 on the year and 6-5 in the A-10, but own a 2-5 road record.
  • La Salle's last loss came against Duquesne, 3-1, back on Oct. 12.
  • Dani Suiter, who shared A-10 Player of the Week honors with Corah, is second in the league behind Wood in assists with 9.94 per set.
  • Summer Slade leads the team with 2.80 kills per set, while Maria Mosbacher averages 2.36 per frame.
MILESTONE WATCH
  • Sharrits currently has 2,060 digs for her career. She needs just 21 more digs to break the school record of 2,080 held by Carolyn Judge.
