BRONX, N.Y. - The first season of the
Tom Hyham era concluded for the La Salle men's water polo team, who dropped a 15-7 decision to McKendree on the final day of the MAWPC Championship. The Explorers, facing a much more challenging schedule than in the prior two seasons, finish the year with a 2-23 record.
MATCH NOTES
- La Salle fell behind 5-0 and could not recover from the early deficit.
- Freshman Josh DeLillo had an impressive match, totaling three goals and a steal.
- His two goals at the end of the second quarter drew La Salle to within 8-4 at halftime.
- Sophomore Cole Strohson closed the year as the team's leader in exclusions drawn and drew four more against McKendree.
- Strohson, Derek DeFusco, Robert Greene and Ash Lyne also found the back of the net for the Explorers.
