Men's Basketball Concludes West-Coast Trip with Matchup Against Grand Canyon on Sunday

FULLERTON, Calif. - La Salle men's basketball closes out its trip west with a contest against Grand Canyon on Sunday, Nov. 25. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET, and will be streamed live on ESPN3. An audio broadcast will also be available via the TuneIn Radio App and Stretch Internet, featuring the Voice of the Explorers Kale Beers.

NEWS & NOTES
•The Explorers outscored Northwestern by a 48-46 margin in the second half of a 91-74 loss on Friday, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor in the period.
•Graduate student Pookie Powell scored a game-high 23 points against the Wildcats and is now 52 points away from the 1,000-point threshold for his La Salle career.
•Sophomore Miles Brookins, who hails from nearby Santa Ana, Calif., scored 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting while freshman Jared Kimbrough added 10.
•Kimbrough has reached double figures in each of his last two games and is shooting 72.7 percent (16-22) on the season.
•La Salle's three forwards - Kimbrough, Brookins and freshman Ed Croswell - are converting their field goal attempts at an impressive rate of 60.5 percent.
•Redshirt junior point guard Traci Carter dished out seven assists against just two turnovers while also collecting three steals in the game.
•Carter has at least two steals in every game this season and has totaled three or more on four occasions.
•Through six games, nine players are averaging at least 13 minutes per game with Powell leading the way (33.3 mpg).
•Powell went 12-for-14 from the free throw line against Northwestern and is averaging nearly six attempts per game this year.
•Following the game against Grand Canyon, the Explorers will return to Philadelphia for a stretch of three straight home games in Philadelphia.
•The first of those games will pit teacher against pupil as head coach Ashley Howard will face defending national champion Villanova at the Palestra on Dec. 1.
•Howard served as an assistant under Jay Wright from 2013-18, and helped the Wildcats to a pair of national titles.

SCOUTING GRAND CANYON
•The Antelopes fell to 3-3 on the year with a 75-66 loss to Utah on Friday.
•Alessandro Lever, a native of Italy, scored 16 points to lead the team. Lever is also pacing the squad in scoring for the season at 14.0 ppg.
•Head coach Dan Majerle, a 14-year NBA veteran, is in his sixth season at the helm of GCU.
•Grand Canyon has won 20 or more games in each of the last three years and has advanced to the postseason in all three of those seasons.
