PHILADELPHIA – In just its second home game of the season, the La Salle women's basketball team (0-6) fell to city rival Drexel (5-1), 58-43, on Wednesday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After the Dragons opened the game on a 7-0 run, the Explorers responded on a 7-3 run of their own to close the gap to just three points. Drexel finished the first quarter on a similar run to the way it started the game to hold an 18-8 advantage.
• After back and forth play to open the second stanza, the Explorers took a 6-0 run over a 1:12 span, cutting the deficit to five. The teams traded a few baskets into the buzzer for the Dragons to hold a 30-23 margin.
• It was a defensive third quarter with only 13 points scored in the frame. Drexel outscored the Explorers, 8-5.
• Contrary to the third, the fourth and final frame was both team's highest offensive totals of the game. La Salle was able to pull within eight, however Drexel outscored the Explorers to cap the game.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• Senior Jeryn Reese paced the team with seven points, while sophomore Deja King and freshmen Janay Sanders and Shayla Sweeney dropped six apiece.
• All 10 players who entered the game corralled a rebound for the Explorers.
• La Salle won the turnover battle, 17-19.
