CORVALLIS, Ore. – Freshman Janay Sanders scored a career high 12 points against #9/9 Oregon State (6-1) on Saturday afternoon as the La Salle women's basketball team (0-7) fell to the nationally ranked Beavers, 100-46.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• After the Beavers opened the game with a 15-2 run in the first quarter, the Explorers finished the final 3:08 on a 6-3 run to cut the deficit to 18-8.
• Oregon State continued its efforts in the second frame, pushing the lead to 45-16.
• OSU ran away in the third quarter, outscoring the Explorers 30-11. Sanders scored four of her 12 points in the frame.
• La Salle opened the fourth stanza with an 8-0 run over the first 1:10, forcing Oregon State to call a timeout. Out of the timeout, the Beavers capitalized and took the fourth frame. As a whole, La Salle had its best fourth quarter of the season offensively, scoring 19 points.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

• La Salle finished with its best turnover margin on the season at +9. The Explorers forced 19 Beaver turnovers while only giving up a season low 10.
• Outside of Sanders, freshmen Kayla Spruill and Shayla Sweeney were the next highest scorers with seven points apiece. The trio of freshman hit four of the team's season best five three pointers.
• On the glass, senior Jeryn Reese and junior Shalina Miller paced the squad with five each.
