BRONX, N.Y. – The La Salle women's basketball team (8-18, 3-10) couldn't get into a rhythm offensively in a 66-45 loss to the Fordham Rams (20-6, 11-2) at Rose Hill Gymnasium on Tuesday night.
Fordham entered the game ranked 21st in the NCAA in scoring defense, and never allowed the Explorers to settle in on offense. La Salle shot just 32.7% (17-for-52) from the field and went only 3-for-12 from beyond the arc.
Rayshel Brown scored a season-high 12 points for the Explorers in a season-high 23 minutes off the bench. The freshman, who netted 10 points after the break, finished 5-for-8 from the field and 2-for-2 from the line to go with four rebounds.
Adreana Miller also scored 12 points for the Explorers, including nine in the second half.
Shalina Miller chipped in eight points and
Sofilia Ngwafang had five points and a team-high five rebounds in 17 minutes off the bench.
G'mrice Davis dropped in a game-high 18 points for the Rams, trailed by Lauren Holden's 16 and 15 from Bre Cavanaugh. Davis and Cavanaugh also combined for 17 rebounds.
The Explorers are on the road again this weekend as they visit crosstown rival Saint Joseph's on Saturday afternoon. Tip off from Hagan Arena is set for 1 p.m.
