PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's track and field team will head to Kingston, R.I., this weekend for the Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. The two- day meet will begin on Saturday and culminate on Sunday.

HOW THEY GOT HERE
The Explorers split time at a pair of meets last weekend, participating in the Fastrack National Invitational and the Iowa State Classic. Junior
Nathan Gillis broke his own school record in the 800-meter event with a time of 1:50.65 to place 17th among 58 of the nation's top runners.
Before that, La Salle competed at the Villanova Invitational, posting ten top-10 finishes, including six in the top-5. La Salle kicked off the year at the Jack Pyrah Invitational, taking four individual wins. The Explorers have competed at eight meets thus far this season, collecting 13 individual victories.
2017 A-10 RECAP
At last year's A-10 Championships, La Salle placed seventh overall as a team.
Justin Guerre finished fifth in the 60-meter dash and eighth in the 200 meters, while
Chris Sanders (800m) and
Zakiyy Williams (triple jump) both posted seventh place finishes.
Bradley Heuer was seventh in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meters.
Dylan Titon placed seventh in the 5,000 meters, and
Ache Hall finished ninth in the 60-meter hurdles.
WHO TO WATCH
Gillis has made an immediate impact in his first season with the team, breaking the school record in the 800 meters on two separate occasions. He owns the team's top marks in the 800 and 1,000 meters as well as the mile. Guerre has posted the Explorers' top times in the 60, 200 and 300-meter events this season.
The Explorers also have strong relay runners, posting the fastest distance medley relay time in the A-10 thus far. Gillis,
Anthony Hawthorne, Sanders and
Nick Smart all are among the fastest 800-meter times in the A-10 this season. Williams has anchored the field events, including the fourth-best mark in the A-10 for the triple jump.
