KINGSTON, R.I. – Senior
Ifetayo Tyler earned a runner-up finish in the 1,000-meter event to lead the La Salle University women's track and field team at the Atlantic 10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships on Sunday.
The Explorers finished tenth overall with 26 points over the two-day meet.
Tyler, who had two runner-up finishes at last year's A-10 Championships, placed second in the 1,000 meters with a time of 2:54.86.
Sophomore
Jessica Bryant finished sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.52 meters.
Fellow sophomore
Grace Mancini ran the mile in 5:09.41 to finish in 13th place, while freshman
Allana Powlette finished in 17th at 5:11.72. Senior
Kaitlin Poiesz was 17th in the 3,000-meter event as well with a time of 10:18.45.
The quartet of
Makayla Eberly, Tyler, Mancini and Powlette also finished the 4x800-meter relay in 9:25.83 for ninth place.
La Salle will head to Staten Island, N.Y., on Saturday, Feb. 24, for the Fastrack Last Chance Invite.
