PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (8-16, 3-8) had four scorers in double figures to knock off the Saint Louis Billikens (13-11, 7-4) 87-76 on Wednesday night at Tom Gola Arena at TruMark Financial Center.
Adreana Miller matched her season-high with 25 points while
Shalina Miller logged her second double-double of the season with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
Shaquana Edwards added 18 points and
Amy Griffin scored all 17 of her points in the second half as the Explorers had their highest scoring output of the season.
La Salle led for 32:48 of game clock and didn't trail after the 1:24 mark in the 1
st quarter. The Billikens were within a possession of tying the game in the 4
th quarter but the Explorers went 16-for-16 from the foul line in the final quarter to seal the win.
Edwards was perfect from the line, going 10-for-10 as the Explorers were an efficient 21-for-25 from the line for the game. La Salle shot an efficient 45.3% (29-for-64) from the field on the night, including 57.1% (8-for-14) from three-point land.
Edwards matched SLU's Jackie Kemph for a game-high seven assists while
Shalina Miller's 12 boards were tops for the night.
Ashanti Freeland and
Adreana Miller both pulled down seven rebounds.
La Salle hosts the Richmond Spiders on Saturday afternoon at Tom Gola Arena. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m.
