PHILADELPHIA – Freshmen
Chase Campbell and
Dylan Burnett were both victorious, leading the way for the La Salle University men's track and field team in its first outdoor meet of the season on Saturday, the Penn Challenge.
Campbell captured the 200-meter dash title with a winning time of 22.39. Meanwhile, Burnett took first in the 110-meter hurdles with a mark of 14.89.
La Salle finished the meet fifth as a team with 42 points.
Ache Hall placed third in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.18 while also finishing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles at 57.80. Also in the 200 meters,
Isaiah Akil was fourth at 22.86 and
Cris Hunter was fifth at 23.18.
Zyaire McKenzie ran the 100-meter dash in 11.63 to finish in fifth place.
Zakiyy Williams finished the 100 meters in 12.39 for seventh and placed sixth in the long jump with a leap of 6.79 meters.
Akil, Campbell, Hunter and
Gregory Dix teamed up for a third place showing in the 4x400-meter relay, finishing in 3:27.37.
The Explorers will continue their outdoor schedule next weekend at the Fred Hardy Invitational.
