PHILADELPHIA - For the second day in a row, the La Salle University women's track team set a new record in the 4x100-meter relay at the Penn Relays on Friday.
One day after setting a new school mark in the event,
Ariel Mitchell,
Amber Jenkins,
Desirae Osley and
Chidinma Matthew teamed up again to finish in 47.07 on Friday. The quartet finished seventh out of nine teams in the Eastern Finals.
The Explorer women wrapped up the Penn Relays by setting school records in each of the three events the team competed in.
Additionally, the Explorers competed at the Lehigh Games on Saturday. Mitchell and Matthew both picked up victories for La Salle.
Mitchell took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.48.
Marissa Francis was fourth in the event at 13.11. Matthew captured the 200-meter dash with a mark of 25.47. Francis finished sixth with a time of 26.75 in the 200.
Kaleah Miller placed third in the long jump with a leap of 5.46 meters, and she also finished seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 10.94 meters.
Allana Powlette ran in 4:50.06 in the 1,500-meter run for sixth place.
La Salle will compete in the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championships next weekend.
