PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University baseball team fell to Saint Louis, 15-1, in the second game of the series from Hank DeVincent Field on Saturday.
The Billikens set the tone early and scored in each of the first seven innings. Leading 3-0 after two innings, Saint Louis scored three runs in the third inning and six in the fourth to take a commanding 12-0 lead heading to the fifth. The Billikens scored one run in each of the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to go ahead by 15.
La Salle tallied its lone run in the bottom of the ninth when senior
Rafael Amanau reached on an error, allowing sophomore
Dylan Evans to score.
Freshman
Colin Kennedy made the start on the mound and had three strikeouts over three innings. Fellow rookie
Colin Scanlon racked up a career-best six strikeouts over four innings of relief, allowing two runs on six hits.
The Explorers and Billikens will conclude their three-game series on Sunday, with a 12 p.m. first pitch.
