ORLANDO, Fla. - The La Salle University men's golf team showed marked improvement on the second of the Atlantic 10 Championships Saturday. All five Explorers fared better than on Friday, and as a team they pared 15 strokes off their first-round total to close with a score of 319.
Leading the way once again was freshman
David Kim, who made the turn at even par on his round after carding seven pars, one birdie and just a single bogey. Kim finished with a 76, two strokes better than his opening day total.
Freshman
Ron Fischang showed an ability to go low, carding a team-best five birdies over 18 holes on Saturday. Fischang shaved four strokes off his Friday scorecard and ended Saturday with a 79.
Juniors
Nick Geiman and
Nick Gruber completed their second 18-hole rounds with much improved scores. Geiman took 11 shots off his opening-day total to close with an 89, while Gruber carded an 80, a six-shot improvement. Senior
Brandon Raihl was the final competitor for the Explorers and lowered his score from Friday by three shots (87 to 84).
The third and final day of the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships will take place on Sunday, April 29.Â
