ORLANDO, Fla. - Freshman
David Kim shot a final-round 74 and tied for 16th place individually for the La Salle University men's golf team at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championships. The Explorers shot their best round of the tournament on Sunday, carding a 315 at Grand Cypress Golf Club.
Starting on the 10th, Kim finished his opening nine holes at one-under par, totaling six pars, two birdies and a bogey. The Dresher, Pa. product, who shot three-over 39 over his second nine, tied for sixth overall in par-3 scoring over the 54-hole event by averaging 3.00 strokes over the 12 par-3 holes.
The top performer for the Explorers on Sunday was junior
Nick Gruber, who was one better than Kim at 73. Gruber compiled four birdies over 18 holes, including a run of three over a five-hole stretch from the 11th to 15th. Overall, Gruber had eight birdies for the tournament to rank in the top 15 individually.
La Salle freshman
Ron Fischang was two-under on par 3 holes over the course of three days, and completed the third round with an 81. Senior
Brandon Raihl and junior
Nick Geiman rounded out the group of La Salle performers.
Davidson earned the A-10's automatic bid to NCAA Regionals with a six-shot victory over Dayton. Wildcat golfer Mike Blasey took medalist honors by two strokes over Rhode Island's Brody King.
