PHILADELPHIA –La Salle University women's soccer (2-0-0) returns to action Thursday, August 23 as it hosts the Manhattan Japers (0-0-0) at 6 p.m. The Explorers are coming off a 2-0 week to start the 2018 campaign, looking to move their win streak to three.
LAST TIME OUT
- In its home opener, La Salle shutout UMBC, 5-0, seeing a pair of goals from redshirt-senior Madison Bower.
- Sophomore keeper Claudia Jenkins registered her second consecutive shutout, making four saves on her way to being named the A-10 Defensive Player of the Week.
- The freshman trio of Camaren Cox, Katie Hoffman, and Alyssa Van Heurck made their presence felt. Cox registered a goal and an assist, while Van Heurck scored once and Hoffman picked up an assist.
SCOUTING MANHATTAN
- The Jaspers are yet to play a game this season.
- They finished 10-7-3 last season, falling to Monmouth, 5-1, in the MAAC Championship Game.
- Last season, the team held a 2-4-2 roach record.
- Manhattan had senior Emma Saul and junior Arianna Montefusco selected to the All-MAAC preseason team.
- As a whole, the team was picked fourth in the MAAC Preseason Poll.
- The Jasper return four of their top five scorers from a season ago, led by Montefusco (21 points) and Saul (17 points).
- In net, the Jaspers return their staring keeper in senior Kelly DiGregorio. Posting an 8-5-1 record, DiGregorio registered a 1.19 goals against average and a save percent of .785.
