PHILADELPHIA – During the seventh minute of play, redshirt-junior
Marcela Robinson took a header off of a corner kick by sophomore
Jenna Soriano to give La Salle University women's soccer (3-0-0) the only goal they'd need to take down Manhattan (0-1-0).
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Just 6:32 seconds into the game, Soriano took a corner kick for the Explorers. Soriano's kick was perfectly placed for Robinson to use her head to find the back of the net.
- The Explorers had a few opportunities to add another goal, however the Jaspers' keeper made some fantastic saves.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Sophomore keeper Claudia Jenkins picked up her third shutout in as many games, making one save.
- The goal marked Robinson's first on the campaign, while Soriano's assist was her second.
UP NEXT:
La Salle will return to McCarthy Stadium on Monday to take on city rival, Drexel. The game is slated for 7 p.m.
