PHILADELPHIA - La Salle University head men's and women's rowing coach
Tom Madden announced the 2018-19 schedule for both programs on Wednesday. The Explorers will open the fall season on Saturday, Oct. 13 with the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River.
Four more row dates will be held over the remainder of the fall, including the Head of the Schuylkill on Saturday, Oct. 27. La Salle will participate in the Head of the Occoquan in Virginia the following weekend, before the Phialdelphia Frostbite Regatta (Nov. 10) and a tri-meet against Bucknell and Penn State (Nov. 11) round out the calendar year.
The championship season begins on Saturday, March 16 with a tri-meet featuring the Explorers, Drexel and Villanova on the Schuylkill River. The Schuylkill will be the site of three straight competitions to begin the spring, with a dual meet against Iona (March 23) and the Murphy Cup (March 30) also on the docket.
A trip to Chestertown, Md. will take place on Saturday, April 6, as La Salle squares off against Washington College. The Kerr Cup (April 20) and Bergen Cup (April 27), both of which will be held on the Schuylkill River, round out the April schedule and lead into the prestigious Dad Vail Regatta on May 10-11. The competition will round out the men's campaign, while the women's team concludes its season at the Atlantic 10 Championships on the Cooper River on May 18.
