LEWISBURG, Pa. - Sophomore
Daniel Domotor scored six goals over two matches for the La Salle University men's water polo team, who dropped a pair of decisions against quality opponents at the Bucknell Invitational on Saturday.
The Explorers fell to the host Bison, 23-9, in the opening game of their tournament. Domotor scored five goals on just seven attempts while
Cole Strohson tallied a pair. Sophomore goaltender
Cameron Schiable played well in goal with five saves, including a blocked penalty shot.
In the second contest of the afternoon, La Salle played tight defense in the first quarter holding Navy to just two goals. The Midshipmen began to find their rhythm in the second quarter, turning a one goal advantage into a 9-4 halftime lead.
Sophomore
Ash Lyne led the way with two goals, while Strohson, Domotor,
Derek DeFusco and
Esteban Rodriguez each added a goal. Freshman goalkeeper
Solomon Cohen played the fourth quarter and blocked four out of six shots on goal.
La Salle concludes play in Lewisburg with games against Mercyhurst (8:00 a.m.) and Wagner (3:30 p.m.) on Sunday.
