PHILADELPHIA -- The La Salle University field hockey team will travel to Farmville, Va. for a pair of games against UC Davis (2-3) and Longwood (2-1) over the weekend. The Explorers will first take on the Aggies in a neutral site game Saturday, Sept. 8 at 11:00 a.m., and will face off against the home team on Sunday, Sep. 9 at 2:00 p.m.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle collected back-to-back wins over Central Michigan last week, elevating the Explorers' record to 3-0.
- Sophomore Rialee Allen has scored a point in every game thus far and provided an assist to teammate Megan Kida against CMU.
- Junior Emma Provost currently leads all NCAA Division I field hockey goalkeepers in three categories, including goals against (1), goals-against average (0.33), and save percentage (.952).
- In the Explorers' second victory over the Chippewas, sophomore Amber Blackshear and junior Chloe Lucky logged the first assists of their careers.
SCOUTING UC DAVIS
- The Aggies were defeated 3-0 by the Lancers in Farmville on Thursday night, marking the team's third consecutive loss this season.
- Junior goalkeeper Chelsea Bigelow reached a career and season-high in saves per game against Longwood, tallying nine in the second half alone.
- Freshman Eline van den Bosch leads UC Davis in goals as well as shots on goal with two and five, respectively thus far.
SCOUTING LONGWOOD
- Goalkeeper Katie Wyman was named Mid-American Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Wyman currently leads the conference in saves per game and save percentage.
- Longwood earned a 3-0 victory over UC Davis on Thursday lifting its record to 2-1 following a 2-0 loss to No. 7 Virginia last weekend.
- Senior forward Leonie Verstraete registered her sixth career two-goal performance in the matchup against the Aggies.
