DAYTON, Ohio – The La Salle women's basketball team (3-12, 0-1 A-10) fell in its conference opener Saturday at Dayton (6-6, 1-0 A-10), 84-45. Sophomore
Rayshel Brown paced the team with 12 points on the afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- La Salle held Dayton scoreless over the first 2:43 before the Flyers hit a free throw. Heading into the media timeout just under five minutes, Dayton held a slim 7-6 lead. Following the timeout, Dayton pushed its lead, closing the quarter on top, 27-8.
- The second quarter was pretty evenly matched through the first 5:28, with Dayton holding a slim advantage, 16-12. Coming out of the timeout, the remainder of the period was a defensive battle with the Flyers closing the half on with a 5-0 spurt.
- Entering the third stanza, the Flyers held a marginal advantage, 6-5, up until the media timeout at the five-minute mark. Through the remainder of the frame, each team dropped 12 points.
- The Flyers outscored the Explorers, 13-3, up until the media timeout at 3:33. The teams traded the final 10 points of the game, each scoring five.
