PHILADELPHIA – Men's water polo takes a break from conference play this weekend with a trip to Harvard. There they'll play #20 Saint Francis Brooklyn and Brown on Saturday, then #17 Pomona-Pitzer and #9 Harvard on Sunday. All matches can be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- Last time out, La Salle recorded a landmark win over Navy. The 10-8 result gave the Explorers their first D-1 win and first conference victory in team history.
- Senior Luke Waechter took home MAWPC Co-Player of the Week for his nine-goal performance over the weekend to lead La Salle.
- Junior Cole Strohson put in an impressive shift in on defense, recording with 10 exclusions earned, four steals and two blocks. For his efforts he was named MAWPC Defensive Player of the Week.
- In net, freshman Adriano Zunino came up big with 21 saves on 45 shots faced.
SCOUTING THE TERRIERS
- St. Francis comes into the weekend ranked 20th in the country with a 11-5 record. The Terriers, however, have been slipping as of late and have lost two straight after a six-game winning streak.
- The Terriers have four players with at least 20 goals this season. Junior Ivan Stefanovic leads the charge with 34 strikes and 13 assists, followed by freshman Dominick Hevesi on 32 goals, freshman Vladimir Mickic with 27 and senior Williams Lapkin on 23.

SCOUTING THE BEARS
- Brown is 10-8 this season and receiving votes for the national poll. The Bears won their last game after dropping the three games previous contests.
- On the offensive end, Brown is powered by senior James Thygesen who has 43 goals and 24 assists in 2019.
- In net, junior Riad Hallal is the preferred keeper and has recorded 128 saves on 246 shots this season.
- Game time: Saturday, 5:45 p.m.
SCOUTING THE SAGEHENS
- Pomona-Pitzer has won its last three games and, with an overall mark of 12-7, has been elevated to 17th in the nation.
- In a 3-0 weekend for the Sagehens, senior Joseph Schafer paced the team with eight goals and also added a pair of assists.
- In goal, junior Kellan Grant made the most of his time and tallied 22 saves on 45 shots.
- Game time: Sunday, 10:30 a.m.
SCOUTING THE CRIMSON
- The host side is one of the most formidable opponents La Salle will face all year. Harvard is a perfect 14-0 in 2019 and ranked ninth in the nation.
- Harvard found plenty of goals from plenty of options in a two-win weekend. Senior Charlie Owens led the team with six strikes, followed by classmate Austin Sehcrest with five, and two others on four.
