PHILADELPHIA – La Salle looks to continue winning ways in conference play after most recently defeating George Mason on Saturday. The team will host Davidson and VCU this weekend with a chance to climb the standings and move above .500 against A-10 opposition.

ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
  • The Blue & Gold is coming off a 1-1 weekend where it led in most statistical categories. It outscored its opposition 148.5-139, out-killed them 118-102, out-aced them 13-10, out-assisted 110-88 and out-dug them 160-145.
  • Those numbers have the Explorers advancing in certain conference categories. They remain first in assists per set (12.67), kills per set (13.47) and team attacks per set (37.89), while rising to second in aces per set (1.54).
  • Wood watch: With 102 assists last weekend, senior Kathryn Wood surpassed 4,000 for her career and currently sits at 4,074—235 away from tying the La Salle record.
  • The Blue & Gold's number three tops the conference with 10.42 assists per set and 740 total assists.
  • Freshman Rachel Hess remains third in the A-10 in digs per set with 4.43, leading all freshman.

SCOUTING THE WILDCATS
  • Davidson enters the weekend with an 8-11 record and 3-3 in conference play. It has yet to win a road game (0-4) and fell to La Salle at home in three sets earlier this season.
  • The Explorers are currently on a four-game winning streak against the Wildcats, dating back to 2017.
  • Davidson ranks sixth in the conference in hitting percentage (.180). Junior Ellie Crosley (.393) and freshman Madeline Wynn (.349) are first and third in the A-10 in that category individually.
  • Game time: Friday, 7:00 p.m. (ESPN+)

SCOUTING THE RAMS
  • VCU is off to another rapid start to conference play, boasting a sterling 6-0 record. Overall, the Rams are 15-5, but were tested earlier this season by La Salle as the Explorers pushed them to five sets in Virginia.
  • Climbing the net: The Rams are sensational when challenging the point of attack; their 3.35 blocks per set and 244.5 total blocks are not only best in the conference, but tops in the nation.
  • Senior Jasmin Sneed is the player to watch as she leads the country in blocks per set (1.74) and total blocks (127). VCU's number two tallied 12 total blocks last time out against La Salle and, in her career against the Explorers, has averaged 6.6 blocks per game.
  • The Rams also have the conference's second-best, fifth-best and eighth-best blockers on their roster in redshirt senior Jaelyn Jackson (1.40 blocks per set), redshirt senior Kat Young (1.11 respectively) and senior Gina Tuzzolo (1.05 blocks per set). Tuzzolo notably recorded eight total blocks against La Salle last time out.
  • Game time: Sunday, 1 p.m.
