PHILADELPHIA – The postseason begins on Saturday for men's water polo as #8 La Salle takes on #1 Bucknell in Lewisburg. The Explorers had plenty of big moments this season, including their first D-1 win, but a playoff victory over Bucknell would take on extra significance.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle almost had its first win over a nationally ranked opponent last weekend, falling to #16 Fordham 11-10.
- Junior Cole Strohson showed out against the Rams, tallying six goals, two assists, three steals and three exclusions earned.
- Senior Joey DeFusco tallied two goals and two assists, while classmate Luke Waechter recorded two goals, an assist, three steals, two exclusions earned and two blocks.
- Third time's the charm? Bucknell has won both of the matchups this season; the second an emphatic 21-3 victory, but the first a less-convincing 16-10 win.
SCOUTING THE BISON
- Bucknell, the 13th ranked team in the country, is 19-8 overall and 10-2 in conference play. Its losses have come against Fordham and George Washington.
- Senior Rade Jaksimovic is the team's talisman, netting 122 goals and assisting on 36.
- Freshman Adrien Touzot will be the man in net for Bucknell This season he has recorded 207 saves.
