PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's basketball team (6-5) dropped a midday city rivalry game Tuesday afternoon at the hands of the Drexel Dragons (6-4), 69-31.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• La Salle struggled early in the first frame as the Dragons jumped out to a 10-2 lead after the first 3:31.­­ Drexel extended its lead to 25-8 by the end of the quarter.
• In a back-and-forth second stanza, the Explorers cut into the Dragon lead with a 13-11 advantage. Drexel held a 36-21 lead. La Salle shot 47.1% (8-of-17) in the first half.
• Drexel claimed the third quarter as it outscored the Blue & Gold 12-3.
• The home team sealed the game with a 21-7 fourth period.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:

• Rookie Jordon Lewis lead La Salle with eight points.
• Freshman Claire Jacobs paced the Explorers with seven points.
• Rookie Kayla Braxton-Young added five points off the bench.
• Seniors Shalina Miller and Sofilia Ngwafang each recorded five rebounds and one block.
