Shalina Miller and
Sofilia Ngwafang paced the La Salle women's basketball team (6-3, 0-1 Big 5) on Wednesday night as the Explorers fell to Penn (6-1, 2-0 Big 5), 65-49, in a Big 5 matchup.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- La Salle opened the game with the first seven points before Penn was able to find the scoreboard. The Quakers took the period by a one-point margin, 16-15.
- The Quakers started to separate themselves in the second stanza with an 18-9 spread over the Explorers.
- Penn kept the pressure on the in third stanza as it held a 19-15 advantage.
- In the final quarter, La Salle held Penn to just 23.1% from the floor, but the Explorers couldn't sustain a comeback.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Miller finished with a team high 11 points and game high 12 rebounds for her second double-double of the season. She added three steals, three assists, and two blocks to her stat line.
- Ngwafang registered eight points, nine boards, and two blocks.
GAME NOTES:
- With her two blocks, Miller moves into third place all-time with 137 deflections.
