Nathan Gillis set a new school record in the 800-meter run at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational and junior
Darian Alston set a new mark in the triple jump at the Fastrack National Invite to lead the La Salle men's track and field team over the weekend.
WHERE THEY FINISHED IN BOSTON
- Junior Anthony Hawthorne briefly broke his own school record in the 800 meters with a time of 1:50.11 in the first heat before Gillis broke the mark once more with a time of 1:49.49 in his heat. Gillis finished 10th out of 269 finishers in the event, while Hawthorne was 12th.
- Sophomore Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky also ran at the BU meet, going 8:25.88 in the 3,000 meters for 61st among 205 finishers.
WHERE THEY FINISHED AT FASTRACK
- Alston took the long jump crown with a leap of 6.89 meters, his second victory of the season and first in the long jump and placed fourth in the triple jump with a school record mark of 15.15 meters.
- Freshman Chris Lewis earned a runner-up finish in the 60-meter dash with a mark of 6.88 seconds. Lewis also finished fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.21 seconds.
- Sophomore Dennis Manyeah turned in a fifth place showing in the high jump with a leap of 2.04 meters. Sophomore Dylan Burnett placed seventh in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.31 seconds, while Ache Hall was 10th at 8.39 seconds.
- Graduate student Nick Smart placed ninth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.65. Freshman Brycen Pitre also ran the 800 meters in 1:59.70.
- Sophomore Ryan James finished 19th in the 3,000 meter Invite with a mark of 8:34.83. Sophomore Joe Boyle finished 12th in the other 3,000 meter race at 8:52.92, while freshman Matthew Bridger placed 13th in the mile with a time of 4:20.48.
