Ron Fischang, who was named to the All-Tournament Team, has set a new single season record for most rounds under par after shooting four under in the final round of the Bash at the Beach on Tuesday, giving him four rounds under this season. The previous record was set during the 2014-15 season by Tonny Aizpun and
P.J. Acierno with three each.
Fischang finished fourth overall and one stroke behind the three winners, jumping 10 spots from Monday. His 67 on Tuesday is tied for the best round of the tournament with four others.
Collectively, the Explorers carded a 293 in the final round, pushing La Salle up two spots from the first two rounds for a seventh place finish out of 13.
LA SALLE SCORECARD:
- Freshman Parker Wine finished behind Fischang on the team's scorecard tied for 31st overall at +10 after posting a +4 in round three.
- Rookie Dragon Theam ended third on the team with a +11 and tied for 37th. The freshman scored a +4 on the final day.
- Sophomore David Kim and freshman Matthew Werner both carded a +18 and tied each other at +18.
- Sophomore Zaffar Sikkander rounded out the Explorers' card at +32 for 82nd place.
UP NEXT:
La Salle returns to tournament play on April 8 and 9 at crosstown rival Villanova's Wildcat Invitational. The invitational will be played in Malvern, Pa. at the White Manor Country Club.
