RICHMOND, Va. - The La Salle University men's track and field team posted seven victories over D1 opponents at the Fred Hardy Invitational, while junior
Anthony Hawthorne kicked off his season at the Florida Relays over the weekend.
WHERE THEY FINISHED
- Freshman Chris Lewis won two events to pave the way for La Salle at the Fred Hardy Invitational. He took the 100-meter dash title for the second straight meet, finishing in 10.78 seconds while capturing the 200 meters with a time of 21.73.
- Sophomore Dennis Manyeah won the high jump with a mark of 2.06 meters. La Salle was victorious in the 4x400-meter relay as well, with junior Ache Hall, freshman Khyree Johnson-Waters, freshman Brycen Pitre and Manyeah running in 3:24.55.
- Junior Darian Alston claimed the triple jump title with a leap of 15.11 meters while also placing second in the long jump with a mark of 6.83 meters.
- Graduate student Nick Smart took first in the 800 meters with a time of 1:51.31. In the 1,500 meters, sophomore Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky edged out teammate Matthew Bridger for first place. Jaciw-Zurakowsky won in 3:56.07, while Bridger finished in 3:57.38.
- Sophomore Dylan Burnett placed second in the 110-meter hurdles at 15.27 second and Hall finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 55.32 second. Sophomore Joe Boyle was third in the 5,000 meters in 15:10.53, while senior Isaiah Akil was sixth in the 400 meters and Pitre was ninth in the 800 meters.
- Hawthorne competed against 60 of the nation's fastest 800-meter runners at the Florida Relays, placing 17th in the event with a time of 1:49.46.

- The Explorers will compete at two meets next weekend as well - the Temple Owls Invitational and the Sam Howell Invitational.
