PHILADELPHIA - The La Salle University baseball team dropped the final game of its three-game series against Quinnipiac on Sunday, 12-0, from Hank DeVincent Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• La Salle loaded the bases in the first inning but couldn't make anything happen. Quinnipiac then got the game's first two runs, unearned, on a two-out throwing error in the top of the second.
• The Explorers threatened again in the third with runners on second and third with one out, but again La Salle couldn't take advantage.
• The Bobcats extended their advantage to three in the fourth, scoring a run on a deep ball to left center. Quinnipiac threatened again in the sixth, but sophomore Malik Brown worked his way out of the jam.
• However, the Bobcats scored four times in the eighth to take a 7-0 lead capped off by a Colton Bender home run. Quinnipiac then added five more runs in the ninth to make it 12-0.
• Despite La Salle's opportunities, Quinnipiac starter Chris Enns kept the Explorers scoreless through the first five innings and the bullpen did the rest.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

• Senior Peyton Sorrels led the offense going 2-for-4, while sophomore Jack Cucinotta went 1-for-2 with a walk.
• Freshman Chuck Kelley was handed the loss despite only allowing one hit and two unearned runs while striking out three over three innings. Brown didn't allow a single hit over two scoreless innings of relief.
