GLENSIDE, Pa. – The La Salle men's golf team hosted the Explorer Invitational on Monday and placed fourth out of eight with a combined score of 608. The Explorers fired a 296 in round one and a 312 in round two.
Villanova claimed the team title with a 592 (290 round one and 302 round two). The Wildcat's Matt Davis and Drexel's Jeffrey Cunningham tied for the individual crown with a 146 and +4 for the invitational.
LA SALLE SCORECARD:
- Freshman Matthew Werner paced the hosts with a 148 two round score for a +6 final. Werner scored a 76 in round one and a 72 in round two to finish tied for sixth overall.
- Freshman Parker Wine finished in ninth place with a 149 through both rounds. Wine ended +7 with a 73 and 76.
- Sophomore Ron Fischang finished third on the team and tied for 13th overall. Fischang led the field after one round with the best score of the day at -2. Fischang followed up his round one 69 with a round two 82.
- Freshman Dragon Theam notched a 78 and 84 for 30th overall.
- Sophomore David Kim was La Salle's last team scorer as he shot an 83 and 83.
- Sophomore Zaffar Sikkander competed as an individual, scoring an 88 and an 86.

La Salle heads to the Navy Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
