PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University men's track and field team competed at the Penn Relays and the Covert Classic over the weekend. Sophomore
Dennis Manyeah placed third in the high jump at the Penn Relays, while freshman
Matthew Bridger was fourth in the 1,500 meters at the Covert Classic.
WHERE THEY FINISHED AT THE PENN RELAYS
- Manyeah placed third among 15 qualifiers in the high jump behind a leap of 2.04 meters (6'8.25").
- Freshman Ibrahim Kedir finished 26th out of 94 finishers in the 5,000 meters with a time of 14:30.19.
- Junior Darian Alston was 12th out of 17 in the triple jump, posting a leap of 13.86 meters.
- La Salle finished sixth out of 19 teams in the distance medley relay. Nick Smart, Manyeah, Anthony Hawthorne and Luke Jaciw-Zurakowsky teamed up to finish in 10:00.87.
- The Explorers were also seventh out of 13 squads in the sprint medley relay as Chris Lewis, Dylan Burnett, Ache Hall and Brycen Pitre ran in 3:32.87.
WHERE THEY FINISHED AT THE COVERT CLASSIC
- Bridger placed fourth out of 48 finishers in the 1,500-meter run at the Covert Classic, finishing in 4:04.01.
- Junior Dom Mussoline, freshman Sean Grant and sophomore Myles Penny ran in the 800-meter run. Mussoline finished 20th among 45 finishers with a time of 2:04.15, while Grant was 23rd in 2:04.31 and Penny was 38th in 2:11.65.
