PHILADELPHIA – After a historic 2018 season in which La Salle women's volleyball posted its best winning percentage since 1981 and won its first Atlantic 10 tournament match, the Explorers are prepared to build on that success in 2019. First year head coach
Andrew Kroger announced the 2019 schedule on Monday, including two non-conference carryovers from last season against Villanova and Delaware, along with a season-opener at Notre Dame.
La Salle's campaign commences on the final weekend of August at the Golden Dome Invitational. The Explorers play the Fighting Irish on the 30th, then face off against Bowling Green and Wright State a day later.
The Blue & Gold then go from South Bend, Indiana to South Orange, New Jersey a week later. There they'll take on hosts Seton Hall along with Binghamton on September 6th, and Northern Arizona on the 7th.
Following this is a trip out to California for the Thunderdome Classic with matchups against Harvard, UC Santa Barbara and San Diego on September 13th and 14th. The Explorers will then return for the Villanova Classic to play Delaware on the 20th and Princeton on the 21st.
A-10 action begins on the road for La Salle. The team travels to VCU and Davidson on the 27th and 29th respectively. The Explorers will host four-straight opponents at Tom Gola Arena to start October with the home opener on the 4th against George Mason, followed by George Washington, Duquesne, and a non-conference showdown with crosstown rivals Villanova.
After the eight-day home stand, La Salle's schedule alternates between two away games and two at home down the stretch. The Blue & Gold hit the road to play George Washington and George Mason on the 18th and 19th, then host a pair of home fixtures against Davidson on the 25th and VCU on the 27th. At the turn of November, the Explorers are away again to face Rhode Island on the 1st and Fordham two days later. The final home games of the season come against Dayton on the 8th and Saint Louis on the 10th, followed by the season finale in Pittsburgh against Duquesne.
A-10 Championships begin on November 22nd and run until the 24th in Kingston, Rhode Island.
