Malmö, Sweden – La Salle Swimming was well represented at the Swedish Championships, which began on June 28th and finished up July 2nd. Three familiar names were in competition: a current Explorer, rising senior
Marcus Forsgren, and two former members of the Blue & Gold,
Fabian Bergman and
Mattias Glenesk.
Glenesk, a 2017 graduate, placed first in the 800 Free with a time of 8:28.22. He also took home silver in the 1500 Free and finished fifth in the 400 Free. Bergman, who graduated in 2018, tallied a pair of top-five finishes. He touched fourth in the 200 Back and fifth in the 100 Back. For his part, Forsgren placed 10th in the 50 Free and 100 Breast.
All three of the swimmers hold multiple school records at La Salle. Bergman owns four times (200 Free, 100 Back, 200 Back and 200 IM), Forsgren has three to his name (50 Free, 100 Free and 100 Breast), while Glenesk is at the top of the books twice (1000 Free and 1650 Free).
