PHILADELPHIA – The Explorers are in Erie for the Mercyhurst Invite as they look to improve upon their 1-3 start to the season. They'll face Salem and Penn State Behrend on Saturday and Mercyhurst and Gannon on Sunday.
ABOUT THE EXPLORERS
- Sophomore Tyler Williams led the Explorers over the first weekend with six goals. Junior Daniel Domotor and freshman Callin Chimilar followed with four goals.
- Junior Cole Strohson was the Explorers' top provider with four assists, trailed by sophomore Josh Delillo on three dishes.
- Domotor led the team in steals with six, while Strohson was the top shot blocker with three. Meanwhile senior Luke Waechter recorded a team-high seven exclusions earned.
- Junior Cameron Schiable led the Explorers in saves with 15, adding five steals to his name.
SCOUTING THE TIGERS
- Salem is sitting at 3-3 entering the weekend, having won two straight after starting 1-3.
- Playing them tight: three of La Salle's five all-time contests against Salem have been decided by one goal.
- Senior Milos Popvic leads the team in goals with nine on the season.
- Game time: Saturday, 2 p.m.
SCOUTING THE LIONS
- The Lions have started 2019 with a 1-2 record. They defeated Washington & Jefferson before falling to Gannon and Salem.
- The Explorers are 2-0 all-time against the Lions, playing them in 2016 and 2017.
- Penn State Behrend are offensively led by senior Austin Hoff and sophomore Collin Holmes. Hoff leads the team with six goals, followed by Holmes on five.
- Game time: Saturday, 4:30 p.m.
SCOUTING THE LAKERS
- The host has begun its campaign going 1-2 and are currently playing Mt. San Antonio College at the time of writing.
- La Salle split the season series 1-1 with Mercyhurst in 2018.
- Senior power: Ryan Witoslawski paces the team in goals with eight, followed by Alex Cappuccio with five strikes.
- Game time: Sunday, 11 a.m.

- Gannon is undefeated to begin its 2019 season, defeating Salem and Penn State Behrend.
- Sophomore Drago Marjanovic is the Golden Knight's top goalscorer with nine tallies in two games.
