FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The La Salle men's golf team finished the first two rounds of The Doc Gimler, hosted by St. John's on Saturday. The Explorers are currently in 13
th out of 14 after day one of play with a score of 596.
Navy is in first place with a 560 through rounds one and two at the par 70 Bethpage State Park – Red Course. Individually, Rhode Island's Chris Francoeur sits atop the leaderboard at 135 (-5).
LA SALLE SCORECARD:
- Junior David Kim is pacing the Explorers after he carded a 74 and 73 in rounds one and two, respectively. He is tied for 35th overall at 147 (+7).
- Junior Ron Fischang is second for La Salle. The McKinney, Texas native finished at 149 (+9) with a 72 and 77.
- Freshman Nikita Romanov made his collegiate debut and shot a pair of 75's for a 150 (+10).
- Rookie Karsen Rush knocked a 74 in his first collegiate round and followed up with a 77 for a day one total of 151 (+11).
- Sophomore Parker Wine hit a 77 and 76 to round out the La Salle card with a 153 (+13).
