DAVIDSON, N.C. - The La Salle University field hockey team begins Atlantic 10 play on Friday with a road contest at Davidson. The Explorers will remain in North Carolina for a non-league contest two days later against Appalachian State. 

ABOUT THE EXPLORERS

• La Salle is looking to snap a brief two-game losing skid, with its most recent loss coming at the hands of Georgetown, 2-1.
• Freshman Casey Reilly registered her second goal of the season in the defeat, as the Explorers made a late charge to try to force overtime but fell short.
• Junior Rialee Allen leads La Salle with four goals, all of which came in a victory over Wagner on Sept. 8.
• The Explorers enter the contest on a three-game winning streak against Davidson, including a 3-2 victory at Hank DeVincent Field last season.

SCOUTING DAVIDSON

• The Wildcats are 1-7 entering Friday's matchup, with a pair of one-goal losses against A-10 competition coming last weekend.
• Davidson dropped a 3-2 decision to Saint Francis U. on Sept. 20, then fell by a 2-1 score to Lock Haven on Sept. 22.
• Three players have two goals apiece to pace the squad, with Julia Smith and McGee Roman also adding a pair of assists to their scoring ledgers.
• Sarah Zeszotarski has started all eight games in goal and has a 3.85 goals-against average.

SCOUTING APPALACHIAN STATE

• The Mountaineers (6-2) began the season with six straight wins, marking the first time the team had won six in a row since 1985.
• Last weekend, Appalachian State dropped a 6-5 slugfest to Ohio in their Mid-American Conference opener, before falling to No. 1 North Carolina, 4-1.
• App State led 5-2 heading into the fourth quarter before the Bobcats scored four unanswered goals to take the stunning win.
• Meghan Smart has a team-high five goals for the Mountaineers.
