PHILADELPHIA –There was plenty of energy in Kirk Pool for Senior Day, but men's water polo found its opponents to be up to the task. The Explorers fell to #19 George Washington and Johns Hopkins to scores of 19-6 and 24-14 respectively. Junior
Daniel Domotor and sophomore
Tyler Williams had the hot hands on the day, with the pair scoring four goals each.
George Washington 19, La Salle 6
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded goals to start the first, but the visiting Colonials went on a tear and rattled off five straight goals to control the first quarter.
- George Washington hit for two to start the second, before senior Jeff Brady and freshman Callin Chimilar answered back with goals of their own. The away side responded well by striking for three goals and taking a 11-3 lead at half.
- The Colonials struck first out of the break, and while senior Luke Waechter scored for the home team, George Washington wasn't going to give in. The visitors scored five more unanswered to lead 17-4 after three periods of play.
- The opponents traded goals twice in the fourth quarter, but at that point the game was out of reach for the Blue & Gold.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Explorers began brightly against the Blue Jays, hitting for the first two goals of the game through Williams and Domotor. - That late run was a sign of things to come as the Explorers had no answer for the on-fire Blue Jays. The visitors scored six straight to start the second. Lyne would bring one back for La Salle, but Johns Hopkins answered by scoring two more.
- The away side continued to gouge the Blue & Gold after the break. Up 12-6, Johns Hopkins outscored La Salle 10-2 in the third frame to push its advantage to 22-8.
- There was little the Explorers could do, barring a seismic comeback, but the home team continued to fight in the fourth. The Explorers scored twice, Johns Hopkins struck for one, La Salle found two more, the Blue Jays scored and the Explorers finished the game by netting another two.
