Standout Performers Highlight Baseball’s Summer League Showing

PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle University baseball team had numerous standout performances over Summer League action, including three players named to All-Star teams.
 
Reigning Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year and Freshman All-American Tatem Levins had a great summer with the Winnipesaukee Muskrats in the NECBL. Levins led the team with seven home runs and batted .319 with 23 RBIs, six doubles and 17 runs over 36 games.
 
Infielder Ross Mulhall earned a Prospect League All-Star nod after showing off his power with the West Virginia Miners. He led the team in both homers (10) and RBI (44) while hitting .295 with 31 runs and 14 doubles over 59 games.
 
Right-handed pitcher Robert Nadel helped the St. Louis Kats win the St. Louis Metro League Championship. Nadel was named an All-Star and was a perfect 3-0 with a 2.13 ERA and 16 strikeouts. He then played in the NECBL for the Martha's Vineyard Sharks, striking out four over three relief appearances.
 
Nick Di Vietro was named a Valley League All-Star for the Purcellville Cannons. The outfielder hit his stride in late June, getting his average up to .362, and finished his summer batting .304 with 11 runs and 10 RBIs over 22 games.
 
Left-handed pitcher Colin Scanlon started on the hill for the Great Lakes League Champion Lima Locos. Scanlon was a perfect 3-0 with a 3.37 ERA in four starts, striking out 22 over 18.2 innings.
 
Incoming freshmen Elijah Dickerson and John DeMucci played in the ACBL for the Trenton Generals. Dickerson led the team and was third in the league with 30 runs scored and stole 11 bases over 33 games. Another newcomer, Manny Corporan, played for the Wisconsin Woodchucks in the Northwoods League and had a 3.26 ERA and 26 strikeouts in nine appearances.
 
Pitchers Sebastian Martinez, Erik Janss and Colin Kennedy all pitched in the Coastal Plain League. Janss and Kennedy teamed up on the Wilmington Sharks, while Martinez played for the Wilson Tobs. Janss was strong going 1-1 with two saves, a 2.25 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 13 appearances, while Kennedy made six starts and had 22 strikeouts. Martinez was solid, striking out 25 over 14 appearances, including two starts. Alfonse Sadallah also played in the CPL for the Martinsville Mustangs with a .367 OBP.
 
Jack Cucinotta ended the summer with the Philadelphia Bandits in the AAABA Tournament. There, he finished second in the tournament with a .571 batting average to go with eight runs over four games, including a 4-for-4 game with two doubles.
