Swimming Programs Earn Academic Distinction from CSCAA

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has selected the La Salle University men's and women's swimming and diving teams for Scholar All-American honors, it was announced on Tuesday.

La Salle was one of 461 schools to receive the award for the spring semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their spring grade point averages and represent 17,982 student-athletes.  

"The swimmers and divers always impress me with how they represent themselves, their families and our program so well," head coach Jamie Platt said. "In the pool and in the classroom, they are constantly performing. I'm quite proud of these women and men and grateful to all of those who contribute to their successes."

The men's program earned a cumulative 3.50 GPA for the Spring 2020 semester, while the women's team compiled an impressive 3.80 GPA. The women's program holds a cumulative 3.58 GPA while the men check in at 3.23.

Individual Scholar All-America selections will be announced next week.
