PHILADELPHIA – The La Salle women's soccer team travel to the nation's capital to take on George Washington on Sunday afternoon, clashing in a pivotal A-10 battle.
SCOUTING THE EXPLORERS
- La Salle split the home weekend with Rhode Island and Richmond, defeating the Rams 1-0 before suffering a 2-0 defeat to the Spiders. The Explorers moved to 3-7-2 on the year and 1-3-1 in conference play.
- Mary Kate Vinkler scored her first goal of the season in the win over the Rams in the fifth minute to separate the two sides.
- Emily Banashefski leads the team with two goals and two assists, the only multigoal scorer on the team thus far.
- Shea Collins has recorded three assists from her defensive position to lead the Explorers.
- Michela Auguadro and Jordynn Stallard continue to share duties in the net, combining for a .778 save percentage and a 1.75 GAA.
SCOUTING THE COLONIALS
- George Washington enters the Sunday matchup at 1-10-2 on the year, 1-4-0 in conference play. The lone win came in a 3-1 home match against Richmond on September 26th.
- As a team, the Colonials are being outscored 33-10. GW averages 0.77 goals per game while they concede 2.54 goals per match.
- Kelly Amador leads the Colonials with six points on the year, one of two players to score two goals while tying a team-high with two assists. Sophia Danyko-Kulchycky, Sammy Neyman and Maria Pareja all have recorded four points on the season.
- Cammie Dopke has been a consistent part of the Colonial defense, playing in a team-high 1,193 minutes on the season.
- Tamaki Machi has been the primary goalkeeper on the season, starting in 12 of the 13 matches for the Colonials. The redshirt junior holds a .708 save percentage with a 2.34 GAA.
